Producer Info

Patricia Coelho is a third-generation coffee producer at Fazenda Santo Antonio in Espírito Santo do Pinhal, within Brazil’s Mogiana region. The farm benefits from fertile soils, a mild climate, distinct wet and dry seasons, and elevations well suited to coffee cultivation.

Patricia now runs the farm alongside her son Pedro, an agronomist, continuing a family tradition of coffee growing while exploring new approaches to processing and quality. Their coffees are processed through Costa Café, where Patricia’s husband Maurício works as Commercial Manager.

This Mundo Novo lot was produced using a natural process combined with a volcanic fermentation technique. Whole coffee cherries are piled into cone-shaped mounds and regularly rotated to encourage controlled fermentation and even drying. The method takes its name from the volcanic shape of the cherry piles and contributes to the coffee’s distinctive fruit character and complexity.
