Ngila Estate Geisha
Delicate and full of clarity, with a creamy chocolate mouthfeel, tea-like citrus notes, and hints of red fruit.
Grown on the slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater in northern Tanzania, this Geisha from Ngila Estate is a coffee defined by balance and precision. The estate’s high elevation, cool climate, and careful washed processing bring clarity and structure to the cup, while a creamy chocolate character sits alongside gentle citrus and herbal notes. Subtle red fruit sweetness emerges as the coffee cools.

Producer Info
Ngila Estate sits at 1,500–1,600 metres above sea level on the edge of the cloud forest surrounding the Ngorongoro Crater in northern Tanzania. Established in the early twentieth century, the farm covers around 100 hectares and is currently run by Vera Stücker and an experienced local team. Today it is recognised as one of Tanzania’s most respected coffee estates.
The estate borders a protected forest corridor that allows wildlife to move between traditional migration routes, while the nearby Ngila River supports ongoing reforestation work. Alongside coffee production, the farm invests in environmental stewardship, water conservation, and long-term support for its workers and surrounding communities.
For this lot, ripe Geisha cherries are selectively hand-picked, pulped, fermented, washed, and then dried on raised beds. The combination of high altitude, careful processing, and the estate’s volcanic soils contributes to the clarity, sweetness, and delicate character found in the cup.
